Our Services
at Valley Lyons Pet Hospital
Orthopedic Diagnostics / Surgeries
We offer diagnostic evaluation for ligament injuries, bone fractures, O.C.D. (shoulder and elbow), patella luxation (knee), D.J.D. (arthritis) treatment, and I.V.D.D. (disc injury). We also offer surgeries for fracture repair and knee surgeries.
General Anesthetic Procedures
All surgical patients will have a basic exam when the patient is dropped off. We perform surgical procedures such as spay, neuter, retained testicles, pyometra, hernia repair, exploratory, foreign body removal, splenectomy, cystotomy (bladder stone removal), gastrotomy, toe amputations, tail amputations, mass removals, entropion and cherry eye repairs, corrective ear canal surgery and ear hematoma repair.
Specialized Laser Surgical Procedures
Laser surgery is an excellent choice for procedures that are highly vascular because it cauterizes as it cuts, so there's no bleeding and no infection. These procedures include small mass removals, oral tumor removals, eye lid tumor removal, perianal tumor removal, ear pinna growth removal, toe amputation, acral lick granulomas and cat declaws. We can also remove small growths with the laser without general anesthetic.
Dentistry
We recommend that your dog and cat have their teeth checked every 6-12 months with us to make sure that their gums and teeth are healthy. We also recommend that every 6-12 months your pet has a complete dental cleaning that includes scaling, polishing, fluoride treatment and extractions under general anesthesia. We also offer dental x-rays in order to better evaluate your pet and check for periodontal disease, toothroot abcesses, and infections within the tooth.
Internal Medicine
If your dog or cat is coughing, sneezing, not eating, lethargic, vomiting, has diahhrea or is constipated, please call us so we can help them feel better. It might be recommended that they have a blood test, x-rays, urine test or fecal test run in order to make a diagnosis and give proper treatment for your pet. We do offer in-house lab services, along with a top of the line digital x-ray machine, and a brand new ultasound machine in order to evaluate and treat your sick pet as soon as possible.
Dermatology
Does your pet constantly lick his paws or has an itch that never seems to go away? He may have allergies or an infection, and we can help relieve his pain - and your stress! We treat for all kinds of dermological conditions such as allergies, ear infections, pyoderma (skin) infections, parasitic infestations (fleas, ticks, mange), and psychogenic skin problems.
Geriatric Wellness Our senior pets at Valley Lyons Pet Hospital are very special, and we want to make sure that we give them the best care possible. We recommend for all of our senior pets that they be seen every 3-6 months by us because they are always changing. We recommend doing blood work and x-rays every 6-12 months as preventative care. Our goal is to give your senior pet the best quality of life and relieve them of any pain or discomfort they may experience.
Ophthalmology
We treat eye ailments such as conjunctivitis, dry eyes, cherry eye, entropion, cataract evaluation, corneal disease and corneal injuries.
We offer a low cost vaccination clinic Thursday 3pm ~ 6pm and Saturday 9am ~ 4pm, walk-in. We look forward to seeing you and your pets!
